BackStunning new choice in the learner legal range!
SYM has been a major player in the scooter and small bike market for many years. Built it Taiwan, SYM has managed to combine reliability, quality and performance to make some very attractive, yet affordable machines.
The Wolf SB250Ni is just the latest in a long line of quality SYM machines that have been transporting Kiwis for years. With a modern 250cc fuel injected single cylinder engine, front and rear disc brakes, LCD dash and tasteful bodywork the SB250 Ni is an absolute bargain in the learner legal market.
At 173kg dry weight, the Wolf 250 is light and maneuverable, yet solid on the road. With a relatively low seat height, upright riding position and a slim chassis it will fit many types of riders well. The footrests and handlebars are set to a mid position, providing a nice compromise between "in-the-bike" handling and comfort. A flyscreen and bellypan are fitted as standard equipment, adding both stylish and practical
Fitted with 17" rims front and back, the SYM comes equipped with great quality Maxxis tyres (110/70-17 Front, 140/70-17 Rear) to ensure great handling. Braking power is provided by a big 288mm petal disc matched to a two pistion radial mounted caliper at the front, and a 222mm rear petal disc with a single piston caliper at the back.
The 249.4cc four stroke, four valve engine makes 18.4kw - more than enough to get in, around and out of the city! Fuel injection helps it to meet the strict Euro3 emission standards, while providing smooth power delivery and outstanding fuel economy. A six speed gearbox keeps the revs down at cruising speed and adds to the bigger-bike feel.
The blue back-lit LCD dash has functions normally only seen on bigger bikes, such as an oil change reminder, gear position indicator, clock and fuel gauge. Revs are shown on a big analogue tachometer, while speed is shown as a large digital read out.
At only $5,999 (plus on road costs) the SYM is a real contendor in the learner-legal class. A great way to learn to ride, and a great option for cheap transport in the city!
