Kawasaki lead the way by adding Showa's Big Piston Front fork (BPF) for the first time in a production model. By increasing the size (by almost double) of the main piston inside the fork, oil has almost four times the surface area to act on. This equates to a smoother movement of the slide pipe, particularly on the initial part of the stroke, giving you unrivaled stability under brakes. Showa's design also eliminates many of the internal components found in a typical cartridge type fork, making them simpler and lighter weight..Add 300mm petal front brake discs with radial mounted calipers, radial pump master cylinder and a clever back-tourque limiting (slipper) clutch and you'll have the advantage on corner entry.
